Effects

The effects global warming are drastic, and once started, they can't be  stopped or reversed.  There are many effects. When the greenhouse gases store in the heat, the heat causes glaciers to melt. Melting glaciers is NOT good. The animals living there (such as the polar bears) won't be able to survive. Also, glaciers are a major water source in some places, and if the glaciers melt, they wouldn't be able to survive either! The melting ice caps would also cause sea levels to rise, flooding coastal cities. If the Greenland ice sheet melts completely, it contains enough water to raise sea level by 5-7 meters (16-23 feet)! Not only that, but since oceans absorb most of the additional warmth, destroying coral reefs, which are home to thousands of species. There would also be more severe storms, droughts, and famines. Unless we do something about it. Click here to see what YOU can do to help.

"The Future of Climate Change

 By:Avika Puri

Art Piece

When I made this piece, my intention was to show the future effects and some causes of global climate change. As you can see, there is a lot of pollution in the air, and you can see the polar bears and penguins hopelessly standing on the remains of their homes. In the picture you might not see it, but I even colored some blue on the land to show flooding. The Earth is sick and tries to remember life before all of this, wishing there was some way to fix this mess. All that heat and drought has harmed the grass, which is no longer green. You can also see a lot of deforestation going on. My medium for this art piece was colored pencils and pen to outline.
